Last year, American Horror Story reached its tenth season but a year on, there is still no news on Season 11. So, what is going on? Has American Horror Story been renewed for an eleventh season? Or have we seen the last of this dark horror series? Here’s what we know.
Has American Horror Story Been Renewed For Season 11?
At the time of writing, there is no confirmed release date for American Horror Story but that doesn’t mean it’s not happening. Previous seasons have premiered around September and October so Season 11 is expected to air sometime in the fall. UPDATE: Deadline has now confirmed the new season will air this fall although there are no details of the plot at the time of writing. In the US, the show will likely stream on FX and in the UK, it will likely debut on Disney+.
What will American Horror Story Season 11 Be About?
We have no idea. But in a now-deleted tweet, Ryan Murphy did ask fans to vote on a potential theme for the next season. The themes up for consideration included Piggy Man, Bloody Mary, Christmas horror, Sirens, and Plague. If you took part in the Twitter poll, it might be that your preferred choice will be the overall fan choice for the upcoming season. For now, though, you are just going to have to wait. If that’s as frustrating for you as it is for us, know that many other people are getting frustrated about the lack of information too. According to PopBuzz, some fans of the show are going on strike until Ryan Murphy reveals more about the upcoming season. In an open letter posted on Twitter, one member of AHS Zone wrote: If that’s not enough to get Ryan Murphy to reveal more details, we don’t know what will! Well, other than a ghost, vampire, or a witch putting the pressure on him while he’s sat his in his writing room, of course. “This can come in the form of a logo reveal, a premiere date, a title announcement, a casting confirmation, plot details, the launch of sweepstakes website, key art, or some other substantive form of promotion.” But here’s what we do know. Unlike Season 10, the eleventh season of American Horror Story won’t be a double feature. It will return to the single-story format that was the norm for the previous seasons. FX Chairman John Landgraf confirmed this when speaking to The Wrap. He said: This won’t be the first time the show has used different timelines to tell its story, of course, but as for what will be happening in Season 11’s scattered time periods, we will just have to wait and see! UPDATE: The series title will be American Horror Story: New York City
