A Beautifully Shot Journey Beautifully shot and driven by a strong emotional core, Kodachrome is a film that explores the strained relationship between a Father and Son as they journey across America. A sublime performance from Ed Harris as father Ben is the stand out here and helped along by some slick cinematography. Although there are moments the film falls into generic tropes you’d expect from a drama like this, it’s easily forgivable given the great work done to flesh out the characters and present a realistically depicted journey of acceptance and healing between a Father and Son....

Under The Yum-Yum Tree Episode 3 of Lisey’s Story begins with Darla and Lisey bickering over Amanda. Darla refers to the facility as the “looney bin” which certainly doesn’t help. Amanda however, continues to experience visions. This time she sees herself submerging into the water at that strange pool we saw before. As we soon come to learn, this is Boo’ya Moon. Chief Richardson shows up to see Lisey, spilling details over the man who threatened her last episode....

In Boo’Ya Moon, Lisey starts drinking water from the pool. While she does, bathing her bloodstained face in the liquid, she notices both Amanda and Scott sat watching. She begins communicating with Amanda via a sketch pad, telling her to focus on Scott’s study. Amanda is stuck there, of course, and with the Longboy closing in and the Hollyhocks on the horizon, all seems lost. This also explains Amanda’s cuts on her wrist too, with “Help me Lisey” referencing helping her get back to the real world and escape Boo’Ya Moon....

Penultimate Clone Problems Episode 7 of Living With Yourself cuts back one week earlier after new Miles picks up a black hood and tries it on. Kate and new Miles share drinks together on their first date before Kate invites him along to the design conference. Unable to concentrate at work, new Miles constantly checks his phone before heading out midway through a meeting to see Kate. Desperate to please his wife, after making love he makes her breakfast in bed before handing her tickets to Paris to rekindle their passion....

Ushuaia The journey begins properly in episode 2 of Long Way Up as both Ewan and Charley push on from Ushuaia. Only, that’s easier said than done given it looks like it’s going to start snowing. The pair get the bikes all prepped and ready to go. Unfortunately, before they can go anywhere they need to work out how to charge up the bikes. The original plan was to charge these from cafes and other people’s houses but if they’re unable to do that then…what do they do?...

The Obsession Episode 4 of Losing Alice begins with Alice in rehearsals until Sofie shows up. She’s late and forced to stay outside the room while various different females audition for the main role. Alice struggles to concentrate though and eventually hurries after Sofie. Only, when she hurries up the hallway, she’s gone. The girl they’ve auditioned though is perfect for the role, but Alice is too distracted by her phone to become fully invested in what her colleague is saying....

Chapter 13 Episode 13 of Lost Romance begins with Xiao’En making breakfast after her night with Aoran but can’t stop thinking about the link with Tianxing. He isn’t ready to go there though. Finally, he asks why she’s hung up on the dreams. She wonders if they’re actually about both Aoran and Tianxing and perhaps a vision of their future. He describes the dream in detail but is called away and asks her to wait....

A Need For Speed Compared to some of the other episodes in this anthology, Blind Spot doesn’t reinvent the wheel or deliver anything particularly outstanding. What it does do however, is use colour and lighting to great effect to stage a high-speed chase in an action-orientated episode. The story itself revolves around a dysfunctional gang of cyborg thieves who come together to rob a heavily armoured convoy vehicle. What ensues from here is a high-octane thrill ride where the gang try to seize the vehicle and make off with the goods inside....

The Love Triangle Love With Flaws has had quite the bumpy ride so far and at the halfway point of the show, I’m still not 100% sure what the end-game is here. With snippets of a love triangle on the horizon and no real clue over what Jang-Mi is really doing, especially given she’s starting to impersonate Seo-Yeon, Love With Flaws is still enjoyable but is unlikely to be one you’ll return to in a hurry when you’re done....

Fireworks With only 3 more weeks left of this romantic comedy, Love With Flaws has had quite the turbulent ride over the weeks. The humour hasn’t always been the most consistent and at times this drama has really struggled to find its groove. Still, there’s some nice moments this week and during these two episodes there’s a real desire to inject more humour into proceedings which has been a little lacking over the past weeks....

Episode Guide Novo Mundo Grounded Pressure Drop Power Darkest Days Crossroads The one element that helps Mars stand out from the long list of other science fiction titles out there is also its weakest link. Mars’ premise is certainly intriguing; documentary and drama styles blended to depict a fictional Mars colony being set up in the year 2033. The tricky weaving of both formats actually works reasonably well for the first episode but as the show goes on, Mars devolves into a constant struggle for power as the poorly acted, incredulous drama juxtaposes with the fascinating science in the documentary style....

The Disciplinary Committee Money Game is a Korean drama with a lot of potential. The characterization is excellent and the trio of characters taking centre stage play off the financially charged storyline nicely, as we see the fallout to the BIS Ratio scandal escalate and spill over to every part of this 70 minute episode. The ending certainly leaves things wide open going forward too and after a bit of a slow burn opening, it looks like we’re set for quite the thrill ride going forward....

Way back when I first started gaming, my first experience with this genre came in the form of an Amiga game called Cannon Fodder. Since then, my run ins with squad-based tactical games have admittedly been few and far between but from these early Amiga games to the unrivalled success of X-Com, there’s no denying there’s still an awful lot of interest out there for games like this....

The Reset Episode 3 of My Holo Love starts with the aftermath of the car crash. While Nan-Do watches So-Yeon being looked at by paramedics, he berates Holo for what he did with the power-cut. Holo replies that he needed to do that for her and him too as he believes that he needs her. An angry Nan-Do returns home and calls the senior developer to hit the kill switch while So-Yeon thinks about the night’s events....

The Contract The second episode of Mystic Pop-up Bar carries on with the same tone and pace as its pilot with another intriguing story line while some revelations about Weol-Ju come to light. With plenty of humour, suspense and touching moments, this drama has the right formula to become a strong contender for one of the better Korean dramas this year. Episode 2 of Mystic Pop-Up Bar starts as Kang-Bae is about to kiss a girl....

Last Dance Episode 8 of Narcos: Mexico Season 3 begins with Mexico reaching a critical breaking point. In December, everything falls apart as the President steps down, cleaving behind a ticking time bomb. Overnight, the Peso drops almost half its value and a million Mexicans lose their jobs. The rich feel this pinch too, albeit less drastically, but there are others who don’t share this pain. In fact, Amado sees this as a big opportunity to double his own worth....

The Main Computer After a brief flashback involving Nina as a child with her Father, episode 5 of Omniscient begins with Nina looking through her father’s belongings. Dani arrives to tell his sister they’ve released their Father’s body and they begin to make preparations for the upcoming funeral. At work, Nina prepares for a disk defragmentation which looks set to countdown from 3 hours. Vinicius confronts her and although she brushes off his concerns as issues with the prototype, he remains suspicious....
